EEScan - Software

The software runs on the Microsoft Windows platform. The user interface supports camera configuration, tuning settings, viewing scanned images, low-level algorithm results, detected defects and optimization results in the shape of cut list or grading decision. Defect detection supports dimensional and visual defects, plus has the ability to receive external defects from third party sensors, such as an x-ray or moisture sensor. For example, an external X-ray sensor can send position and size of density defects to EEScan, where these defetcs will be included in the optimization for strenght grading of gluelam beams.

Image processing and optimization is efficiently multi-threaded and executes while the lumber is being scanned, ensuring results are ready with minimal latency. Production orders are controlled through an extensive editor for quality rules, allowing the user to define and visualize their products and optimization needs. The software can run in an off-line mode, without cameras, and process data from recorded files. This simulation mode is a powerful tool, allowing the user to quickly evaluate the effect of settings and quality rules on the yield of recorded production. It is also critical for efficient customer support, algorithm tuning and development of new features.
